1994-10-13 [[Wilfredo Vazquez]] w pts 12 [[Juan Polo Perez]], Marcel Cerdan Sports Centre, Levallois-Perret, France - WBA. Referee: Armand Krief. Scorecards: 116-111, 116-111, 115-113. The unanimous decision in favour of the champion was seen by the majority of fans to be wildly off the mark after Perez (117½) had appeared to control the fight, keeping Vazquez (119) on the end of his jab, dropping him on one knee in the eighth and cutting him over the left eye. Even when Vazquez traded Perez stayed with him, while easily evading many of the champion’s blows, and it was only in the last two sessions that Vazquez came on strong after being generally sluggish throughout.
