1994-10-22 [[Tom Johnson]] w pts 12 [[Francisco Segura]], Bally’s Park Place Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Tony Orlando. Scorecards: 118-110, 118-110, 117-111. Showing great determination and great strength Segura (124½) went the distance with Johnson (126), but had neither the class nor the guile to unseat the champion. What he did do though was to match Johnson for intensity, which made for a good contest, and although the latter’s speed and versatility, especially with the jab and combinations was the deciding factor on several occasions Segura forced the champion to fight his fight. Having had difficulty making the weight, Johnson finished tired as would be expected, but Segura lacked the power required to take advantage.
