1994-11-11 Julio Cesar Vasquez w pts 12 Tony Marshall, The Casino, Tucuman, Argentina - WBA. Referee: Renato Caddeo. Scorecards: 118-110, 119-112, 117-111. Aiming to impose himself on Marshall (148¼) from the opening bell, the rugged, brawling southpaw champion immediately walked into his rival in an effort to bulldoze him. It was soon clear that Vasquez (153¾) was the stronger of the pair, but Marshall remained unfazed throughout, having some successes, though they were few and far between. Unable to pick up his work-rate, despite much cajoling from his corner, the composed Marshall was never busy or aggressive enough to warrant anything from the contest.
