1994-12-10 Chris Eubank w pts 12 Henry Wharton, G-Mex Leisure Centre, Manchester, England - WBO. Referee: Steve Smoger. Scorecards: 115-113, 118-112, 116-112. In charge from start to finish the champion answered his many critics when convincingly outscoring the tough Wharton (167¾) in all but the fifth and the final two sessions. Showing greater work-rate than he had for some time Eubank (168) continually stung Wharton with cracking counters, and in the ninth lefts and rights had the latter’s head snapping back and forth. Refusing to quit, although Wharton’s left eye was swollen shut he still pushed on regardless before receiving much acclaim at the finish for his display of courage.
