1995-02-11 Henry Maske w pts 12 Egerton Marcus, Festival Hall, Frankfurt, Germany - IBF. Referee: Chris Wollenson. Scorecards: 118-110, 118-109, 118-110. Despite having lost to Maske (174) in the 1988 Olympic final, the challenger fancied his chances in this one before going the way of all of the German’s previous opponents. Marcus (173½) made a good start, winning the opening two rounds, as he looked to take Maske out, but by the fourth he had run out of ideas and failed to win a single session thereafter. Put down in the eighth by a southpaw left, his corner feeling that it was from a push not a punch, Marcus continued his aggressive pitch and even though Maske was cut on the left eye in the tenth he remained unconcerned.
