1995-03-04 Ike Quartey w rsc 4 Jung-Oh Park, Convention Centre, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - WBA. Referee: Earl Morton. Making a brave bid to land the title the challenger was up against it from the opening bell, taking terrific punishment in the first three minutes as Quartey (147) ripped punches in from both hands. Park (147) even succeeded in forcing Quartey back with clusters of blows in the second, but despite the latter returning accurate, hurtful counters he brushed them aside. However, by the fourth Quartey was landing with ease, and at 2.35 of the session the fight was stopped after Park, now cut on the right eye, had been forced back by heavy jabs and was not responding.
