1995-03-31 Marco Antonio Barrera w pts 12 Daniel Jimenez, Arrowhead Pond Arena, Anaheim, California, USA - WBO. Referee: Raul Caiz. Scorecards: 117-110, 116-111, 115-112. Despite being cut over the right eye in the opener, Barrera (120½) was far too good for the champion and was soon forcing him around the ring with thumping left hooks. To his credit Jimenez (120½) began to stand his ground by the middle stages, but he was being worn down by the steady bombardments, often in bunches of five, that were coming his way. By the ninth, even though it was clear that the title was going to change hands, Jimenez was still trying to hit back and he had some successes before Barrera got back on track with stinging jabs and smart boxing through to the final bell.
