1995-04-08 Bruce Seldon w rsc 7 Tony Tucker, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Mills Lane. Fighting for the vacant title, Seldon (236) produced his best-ever form against the favoured Tucker (243) despite carrying a bicep injury that affected his lead up to the fight. Both men opened fast with solid punches and although Seldon was badly hurt in the second round, by the third Tucker’s face was becoming a mess, his left eye having been damaged earlier. By now Seldon’s work was the snappier and he took the next two sessions with accurate jabs paving the way for long rights to the body. Although Tucker took the sixth, Seldon stormed through to take the seventh and during the interval, on the advice of the ringside doctor, Tucker was pulled out of the contest by the referee suffering a broken nose as well as well as having his left eye being closed.
