1995-06-02 [[Hector Acero-Sanchez]] drew 12 [[Daniel Zaragoza]], Ledyard, Foxwoods Resort, Connecticut, USA - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. Scorecards: 114-112, 114-114, 114-114. Reported as a ‘Highway Robbery’ by one paper, the 37-year-old Zaragoza (122), despite being cut over both eyes, seemed mighty unfortunate not to regain his old title. Although he made a slow start, Zaragoza was soon firing and in the fourth he floored Acero-Sanchez (121¾) with an overarm right to the head. Acero-Sanchez got up but was immediately under pressure and grabbed until the bell. His clutching in the fifth then saw him deducted a point. To the champion’s credit, after being put under the cosh for the next three rounds he came back with rapid jabs and straight rights over the last nine minutes to impress the judges.
