1995-06-02 Marco Antonio Barrera w rsc 2 Frankie Toledo, Foxwoods Resort, Ledyard, Connecticut, USA - WBO. Referee: Ismael Fernandez. Both men had a good look at each other in the early part of round one, but once the champion opened up it was clear that he had too much power for the southpaw Toledo (121¼), who was sent skating across the ring immediately prior to the bell. Into the second, Barrera (122) quickly got home with a batch of hurtful punches before putting his rival down with wide left hooks to the body. Having made it to his feet, Toledo was sent crashing for another count and after bravely getting off the canvas yet again he ran into a tornado of punches, some 25 hard lefts and rights, which saw the referee racing in to his rescue on the 1.55 mark.
