1995-06-10 Sammy Fuentes w pts 12 Hector Lopez, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBO. Referee: Mitch Halpern. Scorecards: 112-113, 114-111, 113-112. After being cut as early as the opening round as well as dropping Lopez (139½) for ‘eight’ it turned into a tough night for the champion, especially when you take into account the two points he had deducted for infringements in the fourth and seventh. Fuentes (140) eventually gained the decision because he took the last six rounds on the cards, but it was a close call.
