1995-06-16 Fabrice Tiozzo w pts 12 Mike McCallum, Gerland Sports Palace, Lyon, France - WBC. Referee: Joe Cortez. Scorecards: 115-112, 116-112, 116-112. Following a slow start there was nothing to suggest that the fight would change so suddenly, but after being cut by the side of the left eye when heads clashed, the challenger roared into McCallum (174¼) to administer a standing count. Back in action, McCallum was lucky to last the session before doing well in the fourth and fifth when fighting on even terms with Tiozzo (174¼). With McCallum tiring badly in the seventh there was a ruction when the referee noticed that one of Tiozzo’s gloves was cut and had to be replaced. Although McCallum made a bit of a comeback in the tenth he was steamrollered in the remaining two sessions and was almost out on his feet at the finish.
