1995-06-16 [[Frankie Randall]] w pts 12 [[Jose Rafael Barboza]], Gerland Sports Palace, Lyon, France - WBA. Referee: Julio Alvarado. Scorecards: 116-114, 119-111, 114-116. Thought to be an easy defence for Randall (140), he was hard pressed to beat the 30-year-old Barboza (139½), who caused him all kinds of problems with his movement and rapid-fire punches from both hands to head and body. Even when Randall upped the pace, Barboza was happy to go with it and after the latter had a good tenth round it was only in the last two sessions that the champion finally got on top.
