1995-06-24 [[Alfred Cole]] w pts 12 [[Uriah Grant]], Convention Centre, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Steve Smoger. Scorecards: 118-110, 117-111, 117-111. This was Grant’s second crack at Cole (190) for the latter’s title and once again the result went against him. Both men landed well at times, but Cole was the most hurtful, a powerful left hook almost felling Grant (188) in the eighth. Although Grant boxed in clever fashion, rarely wasting his shots and slipping punches well, Cole’s left jab was the match winner and even though the champion was cut over the right eye by a clash of heads in the tenth he remained calm to win going away.
