1995-08-19 Quincy Taylor w rsc 6 Julian Jackson, MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Jay Nady. Taylor (159½) made a bright start to the contest with heavy southpaw lefts hurting the champion, up and down, and in the fourth round he decided to go up a gear. Having rocked Jackson (160) with solid uppercuts, towards the end of the session Taylor pulled out a tremendous left hook that sent the Virgin Islander sprawling. Making it to his feet just before the bell to end the round rang, Jackson was forced to endure a battering in the fifth before finding a terrific right that almost won the fight for him. Although stunned Taylor remained on his feet. Then, in the sixth, Taylor went to work on the tiring Jackson, who was rescued by the referee at 2.33 when he was under pressure on the ropes and not firing back.
