1995-09-02 Frank Bruno w pts 12 Oliver McCall, The Stadium, Wembley, London, England - WBC. Referee: Tony Perez. Scorecards: 117-111, 117-111, 115-113. Defending the title he had won from Britain’s Lennox Lewis, the American was expected to have too much for Bruno (247¾) and if he had fought with same impetus as he showed in the last three rounds it might have been different. Stabbing out the left jab and following through with solid rights took Bruno into an early lead, but as in previous fights he began to tire. However, McCall (234¾), not working hard enough, failed to take advantage of the situation and allowed Bruno to tie him up and fight his fight. All that changed in the tenth as McCall rallied desperately, but it was too little and too late.
