1995-09-09 Steve Collins w pts 12 Chris Eubank, Padraig O’Chaoimh Gaelic Football Stadium, Cork, Ireland - WBO. Referee: Ismael Fernandez. Scorecards: 115-113, 115-113, 114-115. As in their previous contest, the new champion made a solid start to take the play away from Eubank (167½) and the latter only got into the fight for the first time in the sixth after the pace slowed. Up until then Eubank had found it difficult to get set but after a nasty head clash left Collins (167) with a badly cut right eye in the seventh he began landing more right hands. Although Collins was slowing down he was still marching forward and it was only in the last three sessions that Eubank began to let the punches go that he clawed back much of the points deficit. It was certainly close and had one of the judges not given Collins the last round the contest would have been scored a draw.
