1995-09-30 Roy Jones w rsc 3 Tony Thornton, Civic Centre, Pensacola, Florida, USA - IBF. Referee: Brian Garry. Right from the opening bell Thornton (165¾) was befuddled by the speed of the champion and towards the end of the second round a big left hook put him down on his back. Although he got up and made it back to his corner, Thornton’s time was almost up and 45 seconds into the third the referee, who had seen enough, waived the fight over after Jones (167½) had battered away with punch after punch without anything coming back.
