1995-10-07 Eamonn Loughran w pts 12 Angel Beltre, Ulster Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland - WBO. Following on from their previous contest the pair were rematched, but it was really a case of the challenger boxing on the back foot with Loughran (146¼) trying to catch him. When Loughran did manage to catch up with Beltre (145½) he seemed unable to pin him down, and in the fourth after being hit with a right uppercut he emerged from a clinch with a cut on his left eye. He also hurt his right hand in that session. Regardless of his problems, and despite boxing conservatively from there on in, Loughran eased his way past Beltre who had not got the power to take the title.
