1995-11-04 Marco Antonio Barrera w rsc 7 Eddie Croft, Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBO. Referee: Jay Nady. Despite the challenger being tough and difficult to discourage, he was unable to win a round against Barrera (122), who worked away steadily to head and body while showing excellent variety. Round after round it went with Croft (121½), who picked up damage to his right eye in the second, continuing to prove remarkably tough and resilient. It could not go on, especially with Barrera upping the pace in the sixth. Then, in the seventh, he really went to work, picking Croft off and punishing him before the referee made a timely intervention after 38 seconds of the round had elapsed.
