1995-11-06 Daniel Zaragoza w pts 12 Hector Acero-Sanchez, Great Western Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBC. Referee: Vince Delgado. Scorecards: 115-112, 116-112, 113-114. Following their earlier contest, this was a return by public demand and while it was again very close this time it was Acero-Sanchez (122) who was left bitter. As expected, the southpaw Zaragoza (122) set the pace and was soon crowding Acero-Sanchez and getting under the jab to pound the body. However, heads were coming together and it was no surprise that the former picked up five gashes. In the middle rounds, Acero-Sanchez’s better boxing looked as though it might take him into a winning position, but Zaragoza’s determination cancelled it out and in the final session with the result in the balance he came through with the heavier shots.
