1995-11-14 Orzubek Nazarov w pts 12 Dindo Canoy, Municipal Gym, Iwaki City, Japan - WBA. Referee: Franco Priami. Scorecards: 119-110, 120-113, 120-107. Utilising his speed, the champion took a one-sided decision off Canoy (133¾), who consistently attacked with his head down and was dangerous enough with it to be penalised in the sixth. Keeping out of trouble, Nazarov (134½) adopted a hit-and-run style as he poked in southpaw jabs before moving on. The only time in the fight that Nazarov opened up was in the fourth when a combination of lefts and rights threatened to blow Canoy away, but the Filipino continued to remain upright and the champion reverted to his cautious approach right through to the final bell.
