1995-11-25 Ralf Rocchigiani w rsc 8 Dan Ward, Stadium Hall, Brunswick, Germany - WBO. Referee: Luis Pabon. The challenger started the better of the pair, proving to be a far cleverer and technically accomplished fighter than what had been expected, his fast hands giving Rocchigiani (186¼) plenty to think about. Ward (187) was also dangerous at close quarters. With his left eye cut, Rocchigiani possibly got too involved but after the fifth round Ward became less of a threat and was rescued by the bell at the end of the seventh after being caught by a left-right combination. In the eighth it had become totally one-sided and when Ward was sent reeling from a cluster of heavy blows and was not fighting back the referee came to his rescue with just five seconds of the session remaining.
