1995-12-11 Luisito Espinosa w pts 12 Manuel Medina, Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan - WBC. Referee: James Jen-Kin. Scorecards: 115-113, 116-112, 115-113. Starting fast, the challenger took the opening two rounds with quick, hard punches before Medina (126) rallied over the next couple of sessions, staggering his rival in the fourth, to get back in the fight. However, from thereon, Medina was always up against it, especially after picking up a badly swollen right eye in the sixth, and despite winning a couple of sessions later on he clearly lost the final three rounds as Espinosa (125) came through with big rights and lefts to cement a hard-earned victory.
