1995-12-16 Julio Cesar Vasquez w rsc 11 Carl Daniels, CoreStates Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - WBA. Referee: Charlie Sgrillo. In a battle of southpaws, it was the challenger who came through against all the odds when he found a big left hook that dropped Daniels (153) and forced a stoppage after 34 seconds of the 11th. However, it had been Daniels, getting behind the jab, who made the better start when putting Vasquez (154) down with a straight left in the third. As hard as Vasquez tried he seemed to make no impression on Daniels and it was the latter who continued to control the fight, winning all but two rounds on the cards prior to the finish.
