1996-01-20 [[Daniel Jimenez]] w pts 12 [[Drew Docherty]], Leisure Centre, Mansfield, England - WBO. Referee: Andre Van Grootenbruel. Scorecards: 118-112, 118-112, 115-114. Putting the trauma of the fight against the ill-fated [[James Murray]] behind him, Docherty (117½) fought very creditably against a somewhat subdued Jimenez (118) and might have got a result had he been a harder puncher. However, realising he was not working hard enough, the southpaw champion started to outpunch the little Scot in the eighth, his harder punches putting Docherty, now cut over the left eye, on the back foot. Although the challenger rallied in the 11th it was not enough, Jimenez taking the points decision despite one judge having only one point between them.
