1996-02-03 Marco Antonio Barrera w rsc 12 Kennedy McKinney, Great Western Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBO. Referee: Pat Russell. This all-action fight had everything, both men sending in heavy blows throughout, and it could have gone either way prior to the champion scoring two knockdowns in the eighth, which McKinney (122) miraculously came back from. In the ninth he was down again, but was still there at the bell. Then, after fighting back ferociously in the tenth he nailed Barrera (121) with a thumping right in round 11 to score a knockdown himself. The 12th round was the end for the courageous McKinney, who was put down three more times before being rescued by the referee with 55 seconds of the fight remaining.
