1996-03-01 Luisito Espinosa w rsc 4 Alejandro Gonzalez, Western Coliseum, Guadalajara, Mexico - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. Rushing in at the opening bell, when looking to take the initiative, Gonzalez (126) was countered by solid right hands and dropped towards the end of the session. Although things got worse for the challenger in the second round when his left cheek began to swell, he had some success in the third after cutting Espinosa (126) over the right eye. That was to be his only success though. Having being driven to the ropes in the fourth before being floored by a heavy right to the head the referee, who had obviously seen enough, called the fight off at 1.21 without even bothering to pick up the count.
