1996-04-13 [[Jose Luis Lopez]] w rsc 1 [[Eamonn Loughran]], Everton Park Sports Centre, Liverpool, England - WBO. Referee: Roy Francis. Despite making a more positive start than his challenger, connecting with left hooks and solid jabs, Loughran (146¾) was soon in trouble when being caught and dropped by a big left uppercut. After getting up shakily, Loughran tried to regroup but was quickly smashed down by a cracking right to the head. Although Loughran made it to his feet at ‘five’ Lopez (146½) knew he had the Irishman where he wanted and dropped him for the third time, thus invoking the three-knockdown in a round ruling and ending the fight after just 51 seconds.
