1996-04-27 Harold Grey w pts 12 Carlos Salazar, Bernardo Caraballo Coliseum, Cartagena, Colombia - IBF. Referee: Al Munoz. Scorecards: 115-113, 115-113, 115-113. Having dropped the title to Salazar (115) almost six months earlier, Grey (115) took time out before coming back strongly to regain his old crown. Long-armed and busy, he made a reasonable start to take the opening round before the southpaw champion picked it up in the second to win the next three sessions. At this stage it looked as though Salazar was on his way to victory. However, Grey had other ideas, and from the fifth through the tenth he boxed his way to the front before making sure of the win when keeping out of trouble to wind the clock down. There were no knockdowns.
