1996-04-27 Tom Johnson w co 7 Claudio Martinet, Swimming Pool Arena, Cap D’Antibes, France - IBF. Referee: Max Parker. After two slow rounds, Martinet (126) opened up and quickly paid the price as the champion sent in a flurry of blows headlined by a solid right, which put him down for ‘six’. Although Martinet was groggy he made it to the bell and did quite well during the next two sessions, but was again put under the cosh by Johnson (126), this time in the sixth. Floored towards the end of the session, he somehow got through the round before five powerful rights to the head without reply in the seventh saw him counted out on the 38-second mark.
