1996-04-27 Tom Johnson w co 7 Claudio Martinet, Swimming Pool Arena, Cap D’Antibes, France - IBF. Referee: Max Parker Jr. After two slow rounds, Martinet (126) quickly paid the price for opening up when the champion sent in a flurry of blows headlined by a solid right which put him down for ‘six’. Although Martinet was groggy he made it to the bell, doing quite well during the next two sessions, until again being put under the cosh by Johnson (126), this time in the sixth. Floored towards the end of the session, he somehow got through the round before five powerful rights to the head without reply in the seventh saw him counted out on the 38-second mark.
