1996-05-11 Yong-Soo Choi w rsc 8 Orlando Soto, Lotte Champion Department Store, Chechudo, South Korea - WBA. Referee: Stan Christodoulou. Having made a poor start, and being put down twice in the third round, it looked like the champion’s tenure was coming to an end. However, Choi (130) gradually started to work his way back into the contest, winning three of the next four rounds, prior to scoring a knockdown in the eighth when Soto (129¾) was sent crashing. Back on his feet, but in poor condition, Soto somehow survived another 20 seconds before again being smashed to the canvas and rescued by the referee on the 2.27 mark.
