1996-05-17 Ronald Wright w pts 12 Bronco McKart, Glen Stock Arena, Monroe, Michigan, USA - WBO. Referee: Dale Grable. Scorecards: 115-113, 115-113, 113-116. Regardless of the closeness of the scorecards and the fact that one judge even had McKart (154) winning, this was the challenger’s fight all the way in the eyes of experienced onlookers. Right from the opening bell, Wright (152) was firing in fast right jabs to the face of his fellow southpaw and it was clear early on that McKart had never faced anyone so quick. It was McKart’s right hook against Wright’s jab and although the champion pitched in some useful blows of his own, more often than not the latter was doubling up to hit the target without fail. Wright was so accurate that he didn’t even bother to go for the body and during the last three rounds he remained out of distance to make sure of the win.
