1996-10-12 [[Robin Reid]] w co 7 [[Vincenzo Nardiello]], Assago Forum, Milan, Italy - WBC. Referee: Frank Cappuccino. Going forward right from the opening bell, Reid began well, looking to get inside to work the body, and had a fair amount of success before dropping the southpaw champion in the second. It should have brought about a count, but Nardiello (168) got away with it by claiming a foul and being told to box on. From the third through the fourth Nardiello’s better boxing had taken him into the lead, as he controlled the pace and put his punches together better, but that all changed in the fifth when Reid dropped him with a left hook and two rights to the head. Up at ‘six’ but cut over the left eye, Nardiello made it to the end of the session and although he got through the sixth he was taken apart in the seventh and counted out with just two seconds of the remaining after being dropped by a left hook to the ribs.
