1996-12-13 Ralf Rocchigiani w pts 12 Stefan Angehrn, Stadium Sports Hall, Hannover, Germany - WBO. Referee: Joe Cortez. Scorecards: 119-109, 117-112, 118-110. Dropping two rounds at most, the champion boxed well within himself to dominate Angehrn (186½), who although a skilled practitioner himself lacked the power to be a real threat. Although Angehrn had his best round in the seventh, winning the session on all three cards, he was unable to build on it after Rocchigiani (187½) came back strongly in the eighth to have him hanging on at the bell. Angehrn gave it a real go in the 12th, but by then it was too late and Rocchigiani was happy to go into cruise control.
