1997-01-11 [[Felix Trinidad]] w rsc 3 [[Kevin Lueshing]], The Arena, Nashville, Tennessee, USA - IBF. Referee: Denny Nelson. Having just shaded the first round, the challenger caused a near sensation in the second when stepping in with two heavy left hooks to floor Trinidad (147) for ‘two’. Unfortunately for Lueshing (146¼) he was unable to follow up his advantage in the third session and was soon dropped by a big left hook and forced to take the mandatory ‘eight’ count. Trinidad now had the bit between the teeth, and another heavy left sent Lueshing sprawling for a further ‘eight’ count before a right cross dropped him again, a situation that saw the referee call the fight off with one second of the session left without even bothering to pick up the count.
