1997-02-08 Robin Reid w rsc 7 Giovanni Pretorius, Docklands Arena, Millwall, London, England - WBC. Referee: Lou Filippo. Threatening to win early the champion raced into Pretorius (166), switching from head to body with powerful blows, and hammered away until the South African was forced to touch down for ‘eight’. Having put everything into the first round, Reid (166½) took so much out of himself that he did not start to control the fight again until the fifth when he dropped Pretorius and cut him over both eyes. After taking time out in the sixth Reid came again in the seventh, and following a tremendous right to the head he floored Pretorius so emphatically that the referee did not even bother to count, calling it off on the 2.10 mark to allow the latter to be treated
