1997-02-08 Steve Collins w rsc 5 Frederic Seillier, Docklands Arena, Millwall, London, England - WBO. Referee: Joe Cortez. Taking over from the opening bell the champion found Seillier (167½) an easy target, and in the second round, having felt the power of the Frenchman’s right hand, he smashed open a cut over his left eye with a heavy right. Thereafter, Collins (167½) took his time, knowing he had the beating of Seillier. With Collins controlling the fight with solid lefts and rights another right sliced open a further bad cut in the fifth, this time on the bridge of the nose. Following on from that, after a cracking left hook had knocked Seillier back a few paces the referee led him back to Collin’s corner where the doctor advised an immediate stoppage, timed at 2.20.
