1997-04-14 Daniel Zaragoza w pts 12 Joichiro Tatsuyoshi, Prefectural Gym, Osaka, Japan - WBC. Referee: Arthur Mercante. Scorecards: 115-112, 116-111, 116-112. Starting out with the jab the challenger expected to make life more difficult for Zaragoza (121¾) than in their first fight, but when that did not go to plan he resorted to more aggressive tactics in the fourth. That played into Zaragoza’s hands, the champion being able to counter with accurate combinations before he faded in the latter stages. Both men were cut around the eyes as the fight drew to a close, and although Tatsuyoshi (121½) came on strong he was unable to make up the deficit.
