1997-04-18 [[Ike Quartey]] w rsc 5 [[Ralph Jones]], Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Joe Cortez. Never really in with a chance, the challenger started badly after walking in to Quartey (146½) and was soon in trouble, a left-right to the jaw knocking him over for ‘four’ before another volley of blows sent him down again prior to him being saved by the bell to end the first round. Jones (147) was soon in trouble in the second, but showed real grit to get though the storm that headed his way and even surprised Quartey in the third with a fight back. However, it was back to survival in the fourth for Jones before he became an open target in the fifth and being rescued by the referee after 68 seconds when he was on his way down again.
