1997-04-18 Junior Jones w pts 12 Marco Antonio Barrera, Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBO. Referee: Mills Lane. Scorecards: 116-111, 114-113, 114-112. As in their first fight Jones (121) made an excellent start when shooting out jabs, but Barrera (122), this time round in the role of challenger, soon came into it with steady body attacks and the fight had evened out by the seventh. There was never much in it and both had their successes. The last three rounds were intense as the two men each looked for a driving finish and although many were divided on who had won it was Jones’ extra aggression that was thought to have been the deciding factor.
