1997-04-26 Ralf Rocchigiani w pts 12 Stefan Angehrn, Stadium Hall, Zurich, Switzerland - WBO. Referee: Joe Cortez. Scorecards: 119-109, 115-114, 114-114. Handed another opportunity to take the title from Rocchigiani (187¼), Angehrn (187¼) went much closer this time round when losing on a majority decision. He also gave the champion all manner of problems. There were no knockdowns, but with both men showing wear and tear at the finish after giving everything Rocchigiani only retained his crown when winning three of the last four sessions. How one of the judges gave Rocchigiani 11 of the 12 rounds was a mystery as there were many who thought that Angehrn deserved a draw at the very least.
