1997-07-05 [[Steve Collins]] w rsc 3 [[Craig Cummings]], Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, Scotland - WBO. Referee: Roy Francis. On the floor in the opening ten seconds after being caught by a right-left to the temple, the champion returned the favour when a thumping right put Cummings (161½) down for the mandatory count not long after. Pushed over at the end of the second and cut below the left eye in the third, Cummings was then put under a constant battering as Collins (167¾) looked to finish the fight and with the American not fighting back the referee rescued him at 1.17 of the session.
