1997-09-16 [[Marc Johnson]] w pts 12 [[Angel Almena]], Municipal Auditorium, Nashville, Tennessee, USA - IBF. Referee: Larry Doggett. Scorecards: 119-107, 119-107, 119-107. For a man with so much talent, Johnson (112) proved to be easy to hit as far as Almena (112) was concerned, but to be fair the Puerto Rican had a massive reach advantage. However, Johnson was well on top all the way, flooring the challenger in the second, but unable to repeat the feat again against such a gangly, awkward opponent he was forced to settle for the points.
