1997-10-11 Artur Grigorian w pts 12 David Armstrong, Stadium Hall, Cottbus, Germany - WBO. Referee: Joe O’Neill. Scorecards: 120-109, 119-110, 117-111. Coming in as a replacement for Britain’s Michael Ayers, Armstrong (134½) was no match for the clever southpaw champion, who won as he pleased despite suffering a shoulder injury that restricted the use of his right arm from the second round onwards. Even though Grigorian (134½) had to improvise he was still far too good for a man who had only one defeat in 14 contests against limited oppositition and one who only showed in rounds six and eight.
