1997-10-11 Prince Naseem Hamed w rsc 7 Jose Badillo, The Arena, Sheffield, England - WBO. Referee: Michael Benitez. Outboxing and outpunching his southpaw challenger emphatically, the switch-hitting Hamed (126) showed just what he could do as he cut Badillo (125) around both eyes and generally beat him up. However, the one thing Hamed did not do was knock his man down, but if the referee had not rescued Badillo after 1.37 of round seven, with him wilting fast and being hit with every punch in the book, that would surely have happened.
