1997-11-20 Joichiro Tatsuyoshi w rsc 7 Sirimongkol Singmanasak, Castle Hall, Osaka, Japan - WBC. Referee: Richard Steele. In regaining the title, Tatsuyoshi (118) weakened the previously unbeaten Singmanasak (118) with body shots before dropping him twice to force a stoppage at 1.54 of the seventh round. It was not all one-way traffic though, the champion having Tatsuyoshi on the verge of defeat several times from heavy blows to the head, but ultimately he had no answer to the body attacks.
