1997-12-06 Giovanni Parisi w pts 12 Jose Manuel Berdonce, Sports Palace, Catanzaro, Italy - WBO. Referee: Roberto Ramirez. Scorecards: 116-114, 118-111, 117-112. Having to carry an injured finger on his right hand for most of the contest was not what Parisi (137¼) really wanted, but he made light of it to outscore an awkward southpaw challenger in Berdonce (139½). With Berdonce trying to get in close several times heads came together, but Parisi kept his distance with the use of a good jab and apart from the fourth round was never really inconvenienced.
