1997-12-27 [[Zolani Petelo]] w rsc 4 [[Ratanapol Sorvoraphin]], Provincial Military Stadium, Songkhla, Thailand - IBF. Referee: Billy Males. In what was quite an upset, Petelo (105) won the title on away territory when he forced a stoppage over Sorvoraphin (105) in the fourth round. Having been unable to reach the champion earlier on, a southpaw straight left from Petelo sent the Thai stumbling into the ropes before another left sent him down and, on rising, he was rescued by the referee after two minutes of the session.
